About "Widow's House" Manor in Łomnica

A historic manor house from 1804 next to the Palace in Łomnica, today a hotel, restaurant and foundation seat.

The "Widow's House" Manor in Łomnica is a historic manor house built between 1803 and 1804 by Christian Gottfried Mentzel, in the village of Łomnica in Karkonosze County.

History of the building

The manor was rebuilt in the 20th century, and between 1995 and 1998 it underwent a major renovation. Between 1996 and 1997, the building's surviving architectural wall polychromy was cleaned and partly reconstructed. The building is listed on the heritage register under number 896/J, since 14 August 1987.

Architecture

The two-storey building was erected on a rectangular plan, covered with a hip roof with dormer windows. In the hall, a cross vault with lunettes has survived.

Location

The manor stands on Karpnicka Street, above the Łomnica river, in the Jelenia Góra Valley, at the foot of the Rudawy Janowickie. Right next to it, about 100 metres away, is the Palace in Łomnica.
