About Woliborska Pass

A mountain pass at an altitude of 711 m above sea level in the Owl Mountains, with a car park and a tourist shelter, crossed by regional road no. 384.

Woliborska Pass is a mountain pass at an altitude of 711 metres above sea level in the Owl Mountains, in the Central Sudetes, lying within the Owl Mountains Landscape Park.

Exact location

The pass lies on the south-eastern side of Kalenica, between the hills of Kobylec (766 m above sea level) and Zległe (737 m above sea level). It forms a clear, fairly narrow and shallowly cut depression in the terrain, with steep approaches and gentler slopes, cut into a gneiss bedrock.

The road through the pass

Regional road no. 384, connecting Nowa Ruda with Bielawa, runs through the pass with many sharp bends. In winter the road can be dangerous and is often impassable, which is worth bearing in mind when planning a journey at that time of year.

Surroundings

The area around the pass is covered by lower montane mixed forest, dominated by spruce and beech. The pass has a car park and a tourist shelter, making it a convenient stopping point for people hiking in the Owl Mountains, including towards the nearby Kalenica Observation Tower.
