A historic complex of a former hospital from 1890-1909, today the seat of Wroclaw Medical University.
The buildings of Wroclaw Medical University form a historic architectural complex in the Zacisze-Zalesie-Szczytniki district, entered in the heritage register.
The complex of buildings that now houses the university dates from 1890-1909. It originally served as a hospital. The whole complex is entered in the register of immovable heritage monuments.
Today the historic buildings house Wroclaw Medical University, training doctors of various specialities as well as medical staff: pharmacists, laboratory diagnosticians, paramedics, dietitians, nurses, midwives, physiotherapists, electroradiology technicians and health care managers. The university carries out teaching, research and clinical work, and besides its seat in Wrocław it also has a branch in Wałbrzych.
The complex lies close to Wrocław's Szczytniki district, next to the Centennial Hall, the Wrocław Zoo and Szczytnicki Park, which makes it possible to combine a walk among the historic architecture with a visit to these attractions.
