A historic square in the Przedmieście Oławskie estate in Wrocław, laid out on the site of former cemeteries, listed in the municipal register of monuments.
Zygmunt Krasiński Square is a green area in the Przedmieście Oławskie estate in Wrocław, between Podwale, Komuny Paryskiej and Zygmunta Krasińskiego streets, covering an area of 12,721 m².
From 1777 the site of today's square served as cemeteries. They began to be gradually closed from 1888, and the freed-up plots were turned into green space. The square itself was laid out in 1892 to a design by H. Richter, and in 2000 it underwent a thorough restoration.
The square is protected under the municipal register of monuments, which sets it apart from an ordinary neighbourhood square and involves care for its historic layout of greenery in a densely built-up part of the city.
The square lies not far from the centre of Wrocław, within walking distance of the city's biggest attractions. The closest, at a distance of about six hundred to nine hundred metres, are the Panorama of the Battle of Racławice, the National Museum in Wrocław and the Wrocław Opera. From there it is also close to the Market Square and the Tumski Bridge on Ostrów Tumski (Cathedral Island).
