Violetta Villas

“Violetta Villas” is a film about the most famous diva in Polish music history, whose talent and passion took her to the greatest stages in Paris and Las Vegas. The story is told from the perspective of her son, an unwitting witness to the rise and fall of a star.

The film is directed by Karolina Bielawska, author of the award-winning documentary “Mów mi Marianna”. It won the Golden Horn at the Kraków Film Festival, among other honors, and received awards in Locarno, Lisbon and Saint Petersburg. The director was also nominated for the Polityka Passport. She co-wrote the screenplay with Małgorzata Gospodarek.

Makeup for Sandra Drzymalska is handled by the team nominated for this year's Oscar for Best Makeup and Hairstyling for “The Ugly Sister”: Anne Cathrine Sauerberg and Thomas Foldberg.
