Arka Theatre is a professional inclusive theatre based in Wrocław, where actors with intellectual disabilities perform on stage alongside professional actors.
The theatre was founded in 1993 on the initiative of Renata Jasińska-Nowak, Andrzej Nowak and Bogdan Michalewski.
The inclusive character of the theatre lies in the fact that actors with intellectual disabilities have several years of stage experience and perform together with professional actors.
Since 2002 the theatre has been run by the Association of Friends of the "Arka" Theatre.
The theatre operates in the very centre of Wrocław, close to the Market Square, the Wrocław Opera and the Town Hall.
