The Tourist Library in the Old Town in Wrocław, with around 64,000 items on travel.
Branch No. 57 of the Wrocław Municipal Public Library, known as the Tourist Library, is located at ulica Szewska 78 in the Old Town, a few hundred metres from the Market Square.
The branch holds an extensive collection of around 64,000 items, among which a collection of current travel guides, maps and city plans in Polish, English, German and French stands out. Besides books, the library provides documentary films and audiobooks on tourism and geography. The branch has operated since 1956.
The library runs recurring programmes for adults: a photography club, a travellers' club with multimedia presentations, language classes and a book discussion club. It is a meeting place for people interested in travel and geography, not just a lending library.
The library lies right in the centre of Wrocław, within walking distance of the Town Hall and the Market Square. Nearby are also the Wrocław Opera and the Market Hall, and a little further on the Tumski Bridge and the Botanical Garden of the University of Wrocław.
