A brick rectorial church in Ziębice, built in 1891 as an Evangelical-Lutheran church, in use again for religious purposes since 2001.
The Church of Our Lady, Mother of Mercy in Ziębice stands on Klasztorna Street. It is a small brick church with a single tower, built at the end of the 19th century for the Evangelical-Lutheran community.
The church was built as an Evangelical-Lutheran (Old Lutheran) church dedicated to St John. It was consecrated on 9 December 1891. Until 1947, services for the German-speaking population of Ziębice were held there, until their expulsion after the end of the war.
After 1947 the building stood unused for over half a century. Only from 2001 has the church again served religious purposes, this time as a Roman Catholic rectorial church within the parish of Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles in Ziębice. Cardinal Henryk Gulbinowicz contributed to restoring it to use. Today the church is cared for by the theological seminary in Henryków.
A few hundred metres away is the Museum of Household Appliances, and within a few kilometres of Ziębice you can reach the "Muszkowicki Las Bukowy" Nature Reserve and Cyril's Spring.
