A yellow, 141-kilometre hiking trail circling Wrocław, divided into ten sections, partly accessible also by bicycle.
The Dr Bronisław Turoń Trail Around Wrocław is a yellow hiking trail circling Wrocław, most sections of which can also be covered by bicycle. It runs through villages near the city and through some of its outlying districts, including Widawa.
The concept of the trail was created in 1967 by Zbigniew Szkolnicki, an activist of the Wrocław branch of PTTK (Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society). The trail was marked out in 1975, and in 1986 it was named after Bronisław Turoń, another activist of the Wrocław PTTK branch.
The trail is 141 kilometres long and is divided into ten sections arranged in two parts, northern and southern, because at the time the route was designed there were no permanent crossings of the Oder available for foot traffic either above or below Wrocław. The two parts are linked by an additional, partly marked 14.6-kilometre section running through the lock on the Oder in Ratowice. The starting and ending points of the individual sections were set in places accessible by public transport.
For completing each section, the Wrocław-Fabryczna branch of PTTK awards a tourist badge.
The route runs close to the Swedish Redoubt and the Rędzin Bridge, and one section comes close to the city centre, where it's worth seeing the Piastowski Brewery.
