A monument to Friedrich Ludwig Jahn that has not survived, unveiled in 1912 on the former Minoritenstraße, today's Daszyński Street in Kłodzko.
The Friedrich Ludwig Jahn Monument in Kłodzko stood on the former Minoritenstraße, today's Ignacy Daszyński Street. Unveiled in 1912, it has not survived to this day - no trace of it remains in the town.
The monument was unveiled on 20 July 1912, on the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Gymnastics Society. The ceremony included speeches, a choir performance and the laying of wreaths.
The monument was 3.40 metres tall and was made of artificial granite with a bronze relief. The design was created by architect Franz Brenner, and the relief showing Jahn in an oak wreath was made by sculptor Paul Weiß, a resident of Kłodzko and vice-president of the local Men's Gymnastics Society.
The monument has not survived to this day. Sources do not state when or under what circumstances it disappeared from Daszyński Street, nor what currently stands in its place - this information remains to be established. It is a different object from the Jahn monument in Syców, which stood in another town and likewise has not survived.
