A geological exposure on Wiktoria hill near Krzywina, revealing date quartzites and rock crystal.
Goethe's Rock is a rock exposure on the north-eastern slope of Wiktoria hill, right next to the village of Krzywina in the Przeworno municipality.
The exposure reveals unique rocks known as date quartzites. These are light cream, fine-grained silica rocks in which elongated mineral aggregates resembling dates in shape can be seen, hence the name.
Besides the date quartzites, the exposure also contains a colourless variety of quartz, known as rock crystal.
A few kilometres further on rise the hills of Gromnik, with the observation tower on Gromnik, and Garnczarek. In Krzywina itself stands the old Church of St Oswald.
