A disused Jewish cemetery in Świebodzice dating from 1849, a walled-off fragment of the communal cemetery with several surviving gravestones.
The Jewish Cemetery in Świebodzice was established in 1849 and today forms a separate, walled-off section of the town's communal cemetery. Burials no longer take place there, but traces of the town's former Jewish community have survived.
Several gravestones have survived on the site, most of them damaged. This is a small fragment of the original layout, adjoining the rest of the communal cemetery, from which it is separated by a wall.
The cemetery grounds themselves were tidied up in 1998. Since then the site has had a commemorative character; the cemetery is closed and no new burials take place there.
A few kilometres away lies the Książ castle and park complex, one of the region's biggest attractions.
In Świebodzice itself it is also worth seeing St Anne's Church.
