A former Jewish cemetery on Cardinal Wyszyński Avenue in Złotoryja, liquidated in 1973, with no surviving gravestones.
The Jewish cemetery in Złotoryja was located near today's Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński Avenue. Today nothing visible remains of the necropolis - this is a place commemorating history, not a site to visit.
The cemetery was established in the early 19th century on what was then Mittelstrasse, today's Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński Avenue. After the Second World War the site passed into the ownership of the Polish Jewish community, and in 1973 it was liquidated.
No gravestones have survived from the former cemetery. After its liquidation in 1973 the site lost its character as a necropolis, and the sources do not state what is there today or whether it is marked in any way.
Nearby, in Złotoryja itself, you can see the Aurelia Gold Mine and the Gold Museum, and not far away stands the Church of St Hedwig of Silesia and Franciscan Monastery in Złotoryja. A few kilometres further on lies the Wilcza Góra nature reserve.
