A granite boulder from 1946 on Skwer Solidarności Walczącej, placed on the site of the former Tauentzien monument.
The Memorial Stone in Honour of the Fighters for National and Social Liberation stands on Skwer Solidarności Walczącej in Wrocław, formerly plac Tadeusza Kościuszki, at the point where Kościuszki and Świdnicka streets cross. It is a granite erratic boulder 1.5 metres tall, surrounded by roadways and a tram track.
The stone was unveiled on 24 March 1946, on the occasion of the First Congress of Participants in the Armed Struggle for Independence and Democracy. It was initiated by the Union of Participants in the Armed Struggle for Independence and Democracy, and the inscription bears the date 22 March 1946. The text reads: "Union of Participants in the Armed Struggle for Independence and Democracy. Wrocław, 22 March 1946. To the fighters for independence 1791, 1794, 1830/31, 1846, 1863/64, 1905, 1914/18, 1939/45".
The boulder was placed where, since 1795, the monument to Friedrich Bogislav von Tauentzien had stood, demolished in 1945. During martial law the symbol of Fighting Solidarity was carved into the stone, and traces of it are still visible today.
