A bronze bust of Ignacy Jan Paderewski on a glass pedestal, opposite the National Forum of Music in Wrocław, unveiled in 2018.
The Monument to Ignacy Jan Paderewski stands in Wrocław at Bulwar Tadka Jasińskiego and Krupnicza street, opposite the National Forum of Music. It is a bronze bust set on a glass pedestal, unveiled in 2018.
The monument takes the form of a bronze bust of Ignacy Jan Paderewski, placed on a transparent glass pedestal. The sculpture was made by Tomasz Wenklar. The monument was funded by the Wrocław Chamber of Commerce, as part of an initiative by entrepreneurs gathered around the Icons of Business project.
The monument commemorates the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining independence. It was unveiled on 6 June 2018, and the ceremony was attended, among others, by the then mayor of Wrocław, Rafał Dutkiewicz.
The location is no accident - the monument stands close to the place where Paderewski gave concerts during his visits to Wrocław, on 6 February 1891 and 26 October 1901. The proximity of the National Forum of Music underlines this musical context.
