A fibre art gallery operating since 1978 on Stare Jatki street in Wrocław's Old Town.
The Na Jatkach Weaving Gallery (Galeria Tkacka Na Jatkach) is located at Stare Jatki 19-22 in Wrocław's Old Town, in a group of former tenement houses known as "Macella antiqua". It has operated here since 1978.
The gallery belongs to a group of 24 tenement houses, already built of brick in the early Middle Ages, located in the north-western part of the Old Town, near the bed of the Oder, north of St Elizabeth's Church, on the site of the former ducal curia. In 1241-1242, when the city was founded, Stare Jatki along with the neighbouring areas were handed over to the bailiff and the city council. From its earliest years the street served a trading function, and its name comes from the former meat stalls located there. Since 1991 the street, together with the galleries located on it, has belonged to the Association of Polish Visual Artists.
The gallery is run by Ewa Maria Poradowska Werszler. It is a meeting place for artists, the seat of the "10xTAK" weaving group and of the Foundation for the Development of Wrocław Artistic Fabric. It hosts individual and group exhibitions presenting works of fibre art, fairs, documentation screenings and author meetings, and the gallery cooperates with other galleries in Poland and abroad in promoting Polish art. The gallery also organises the "Kowary" International Fabric Symposium, aimed at artists working in fibre art.
