A park with 1:25-scale miniatures of Lower Silesian monuments on the grounds of a former carpet factory in Kowary, with guided tours.
The Park of Miniatures of Lower Silesian Monuments in Kowary houses a set of models of the region's most important buildings, laid out on the grounds of a former carpet factory. It is an attraction for families with children, even on a rainy day, as part of the exhibition is under cover.
The park presents churches, castles, palaces, town centres, town halls and mountain shelters from across Lower Silesia. The miniatures were built mainly at a scale of 1:25, with a few models made at a scale of 1:50. The creators reproduced the originals in full detail, so the models faithfully reflect the appearance of the real buildings, including some that are today in ruins or inaccessible to visitors.
The models were made from weather-resistant materials, which allows most of the exhibition to be kept outdoors. The miniatures are set within green surroundings with colourful flower arrangements, and part of the display is placed under cover.
The park was established in 2003 on grounds separated from a former carpet factory in Kowary. The creators later developed the same idea at the seaside resort of Niechorze, where the Park of Miniature Lighthouses was created.
The ticket includes a tour led by an animator, who brings the history of individual buildings and their anecdotes closer to visitors. This sets the visit apart from the independent stroll among models typical of other miniature parks.
