A peak 870 m above sea level in the Suche Mountains, crowned by the ruins of Rogowiec Castle, with red, blue and yellow trails.
Rogowiec is a peak 870 metres above sea level in the Kamienne Mountains, in the Suche Mountains range, in the Central Sudetes. The mountain lies about 3.3 kilometres southwest of Głuszyca, on the north-eastern side of Waligóra, and is crowned by the ruins of Rogowiec Castle.
The mountain has a conical shape and a rocky character. Its slopes are steep, cut by small but deep little valleys, and picturesque rock formations appear on the surface. Traces of old landslides have survived on the eastern and north-eastern slopes. Rogowiec, together with the neighbouring Skalne Bramy rocks, is built of Permian melaphyre, belonging to the northern wing of the Intra-Sudetic Basin.
The peak is covered by mixed beech-spruce forest of the lower montane zone. Rogowiec lies within the Wałbrzych Sudetes Landscape Park.
On the mountain's summit stand the ruins of Rogowiec Castle. The peak itself is a viewpoint and a hiking destination independent of the castle, but the two places lie so close together that they are usually visited together.
Three marked tourist trails lead across the summit: the red trail, a section of the Main Sudetes Trail, the blue trail to Wałbrzych, and the yellow trail to Głuszyca.
Waligóra and Borowa rise nearby, and Gomólnik Mały also lies close to the summit. For fans of underground sites, the Riese Włodarz underground complex is in the area.
