A twelve-hectare spa park in the centre of Polanica-Zdrój, divided into five parts, with rich tree stands and a network of hiking trails.
The Spa Park in Polanica-Zdrój occupies the centre of the town and covers 12.97 hectares. It is managed by the town office (9.23 ha) and the Kłodzko Health Resorts Complex (3.73 ha), and its entire area is under protection.
The park is divided into five parts: the oldest Central Park, the Forest Park, Józef Park, the Chess Park and the area around the cardiology centre. In the Central Park stand, among others, the "Wielka Pieniawa" sanatorium, a wooden concert bandstand, a pump room and a promenade hall, and the Spa Theatre operates nearby.
A peat-mud spring has been used here for therapeutic purposes since 1879. The development of the park was accelerated by the building of the railway line from Kłodzko to Duszniki-Zdrój, and in the first decade of the 20th century a new spa building and a promenade hall were built. After the war the park was surrounded by a metal fence, removed around 1970.
28 botanical families grow in the park, including native lime trees, maples, hornbeams, horse chestnuts and ashes, alongside them 19 species brought from North America, including the eastern white pine and the silver maple, as well as species from the Far East and other parts of Europe. Fifteen specimens have the status of natural monuments, most of them impressive thujas, poplars and ashes.
Three colour-marked hiking trails start from the park: a blue one to Wambierzyce, a yellow one towards Szczytna and Bystrzyca Kłodzka, and a green one to Batorów. In the area it is also worth climbing nearby elevations, for example Twaróg or Kamienna Góra.
