“The Star Diaries” is a stage adaptation of Stanisław Lem’s prose, directed by Andrzej Bartnikowski. Audiences will set off on a cosmic journey with Ijon Tichy. Along the way, they will encounter time whirlpools, meetings with alien civilisations and expeditions into outer space, provided no one steals the spacesuit.
The hero will look where, as the announcement puts it, “reason says good night,” and immerse himself in worlds of cosmic absurdity. One of the stories is about a portion of beef tenderloin that, instead of dinner, became a rocket’s satellite. According to the organisers, it is not only a classic of science fiction literature but also a story full of humour, reflection and philosophical depth.
