The Adit of the Former Pyrite Mine is a mining relic near Szklarska Poręba, in Karkonosze County.
The adit comes from a pyrite mine that operated from the 16th to the 19th century. The mineral, which resembles gold in appearance, was processed locally in a vitriol works, that is, a plant producing sulphuric acid.
Visiting is free, though only part of the old passages is open to visitors. The route to the adit is marked by the black and yellow trails, which descend from Zakręt Śmierci (Death's Bend), after which you need to turn off the main route onto a narrow path leading straight to the former mine.
Nearby is Zakręt Śmierci (Death's Bend), from which the approach to the adit begins, and a little further the Szklarka Waterfall and Chybotek. The road towards the peaks leads to Szrenica.
