A stone viewing tower from 1913 on the summit of Góra Wszystkich Świętych in Nowa Ruda-Słupiec, with a panorama of the Kłodzko Land.
The viewing tower on Góra Wszystkich Świętych (All Saints' Mountain) stands on a summit 648 m above sea level, in Nowa Ruda-Słupiec, in the Włodzice Hills. Built of red sandstone, about 15 metres high, it has served for over a hundred years as a viewpoint over the Kłodzko Land.
Earlier, a modest, 2.8-metre wooden mini-tower stood on the same spot, erected in 1889. The foundation stone for the present, masonry building was laid on 12 June 1913, and construction was completed that same year. The project was funded by the Słupiec section of the Kłodzko Mountain Society, with financial support from the family of Field Marshal von Moltke, whose bas-relief was placed above the tower's main entrance.
The tower has a circular plan and narrows towards the top, giving it a slender silhouette. It is topped with a viewing gallery and a round lantern covered by a cone-shaped roof. The main entrance is finished with a distinctive arch. The building material was local red sandstone, thanks to which the tower blends in colour with the surrounding landscape.
From the tower's gallery a wide panorama of the Kłodzko Land opens up, reaching towards the ranges of the Sudetes and across to the Czech side. This is the main reason it is worth making the climb to the summit of Góra Wszystkich Świętych.
In the 1980s the tower began to fall into ruin, neglected and without regular upkeep. Over time it was partially restored, with the stairs and roof, among other things, repaired. Today the building is open and accessible to visitors.
Góra Wszystkich Świętych itself, on which the tower stands, is a separate point on the map of the area. Nearby also lies Góra Świętej Anny in the Włodzice Hills and the Joseph Wittig Museum. In Nowa Ruda itself it is also worth visiting the Mining Museum and the neighbouring Museum of Minerals, and viewpoint enthusiasts can continue the route to the viewing tower on Grodziszcze.
