A steel, openwork viewing tower on the summit of Borowa, with a platform at a height of 15.3 metres, opened in 2017.
The Borowa Observation Tower stands on the summit of Borowa in the Wałbrzych Mountains, on the border between Wałbrzych and Jedlina-Zdrój. It is a steel, openwork structure, offering views over the surrounding ranges of the Sudetes.
The structure consists of 32 steel posts set at an angle of 68 degrees to the base, forming a sixteen-sided shape in plan, which gives the tower the form of a single-sheet hyperboloid, narrowing towards the middle. The whole structure measures 16.5 metres in height, or 19.5 metres including the lightning-rod mast at the top.
The viewing platform is reached by 90 spiral steps. The platform sits at a height of 15.3 metres and is also sixteen-sided, with a diameter of 8 metres, surrounded by a 1.5-metre-high protective railing.
The tower stands on the summit of Borowa (853 m), in the Wałbrzych Mountains, on the border between Wałbrzych and Jedlina-Zdrój, in Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
Construction began in August 2017, and the official opening took place on 14 December 2017. The investment cost 1.2 million złoty, financed by Wałbrzych and Jedlina-Zdrój. In September 2018 the tower's design received a distinction from the Lower Silesian District Chamber of Civil Engineers as the best construction project of 2017.
