An active Wrocław municipal necropolis in Jerzmanowo, established in 1998 and laid out as a park with a chapel at its centre.
Jerzmanowo Cemetery is a Wrocław municipal necropolis in the western part of the city, established at the end of the 1990s. It was designed with a park-like character, with a chapel placed centrally within the whole layout.
The Jerzmanowo Branch of the Municipal Cemetery was established under a resolution of the Wrocław City Council of 5 June 1998. It is administered by the city and remains an active necropolis.
The grounds were laid out in the manner of a park, with avenues and greenery surrounding the sections, rather than as a typical, densely built-up cemetery. The chapel is the central point of the composition.
Buried in the cemetery is Kazimierz Paździor, a boxer and Olympic champion from 1960, as well as Dr Habil. Stanisław Chełpa, a lecturer in psychology at the Wrocław University of Economics, and Professor Romuald Jacek Pomorski, an entomologist and founder of the Polish Taxonomical Society.
The western part of Wrocław has plenty of green areas within a few kilometres of the cemetery.
