A private museum in a restored 18th-century shoemaker's house in Pławna Górna, dedicated to post-war resettlements and expulsions.
The Museum of Resettlers and Expellees in Pławna Górna occupies a restored 18th-century house that once belonged to a shoemaker, converted into a private memorial room. The collection tells the story of the end of the Second World War, when mass resettlements and expulsions of the population took place. The venue has operated since 2012.
The exhibition is divided into themed rooms. Figures dressed in period costumes stand in them, alongside displayed everyday objects, uniforms and pieces of military equipment. A separate section is devoted to resettlers' family keepsakes and objects found during excavation work: documents, photographs, money and suitcases in which people tried to fit the achievements of a whole lifetime.
The building housing the museum is a renovated 18th-century house that once belonged to a local shoemaker. The renovation work and setting up of the exhibition took nearly a year.
