A regional museum in Trzebnica's town hall, run by the Society of Friends of the Trzebnica Land, with historical and archaeological exhibitions.
The Regional Museum of the Society of Friends of the Trzebnica Land is housed in the building of Trzebnica's town hall and is run by the Society of Friends of the Trzebnica Land.
The institution's beginnings go back to 1979, when, on the Society's initiative, a National Remembrance Room was set up in the town hall. Until 1990 it displayed mementos from the twentieth century and copies of historical documents, after which the Room was transformed into a museum. In 1998 the institution moved to an eighteenth-century townhouse "Pod Złotym Słońcem" ("Under the Golden Sun") on the Market Square, and its collection was enriched with finds from excavations led by professor Jan Burdukiewicz near Winna Góra, where sites of Homo erectus dating back about five hundred thousand years were discovered. Since 2008 the museum has again been housed in the town hall building.
The permanent exhibitions include historical and archaeological collections, supplemented by exhibits on loan from the Archaeological Museum in Wrocław.
