An educational farm in Kędzie near Żmigród with workshops in traditional fermentation and vegetable harvesting.
Stodoła za Winklem is part of an educational farm operating in Kędzie near Żmigród, in Lower Silesia. It is a farm showing traditional agriculture and old ways of processing food, not a museum with display cases - most activities take place outdoors and involve working with your hands.
The programme focuses on traditional fermentation and preserves made according to old Polish recipes. Participants take part in harvesting seasonal vegetables, and the whole experience is meant to show what farming and food processing looked like before industrial production methods appeared.
The offer includes short visits lasting from one to three hours, full-day visits without an overnight stay, and longer stays with meals included. Overnight stays and meals are thus an addition to the educational programme, not the farm's main activity.
Kędzie lies a few kilometres from Żmigród, where it is worth combining the visit with Żmigród Castle or the neighbouring Żmigród Palace. The same area is also home to the JASUMI Stable, and for cooling off in summer you can head to Aquagród.
