Legnickie Pole offers a museum of the 1241 battle in a Gothic church, a rope play park for children and a paintball field, all in one village.
What is the Battle of Legnica Museum?
The Battle of Legnica Museum tells the story of the battle fought on 9 April 1241, when the forces of Duke Henry II the Pious clashed with the Mongol army. It is regarded as one of the largest clashes in the history of Silesia and Poland of that time. The museum opened in 1961 as a branch of the Copper Museum in Legnica. It sits in the former Benedictine church of the Holy Trinity and the Blessed Virgin Mary, a Gothic building from the second half of the 14th century. It is a good rainy-day goal, also for visiting on your own.
Where to take children in Legnickie Pole?
The Rope Play Park stands on ulica Janczarska, next to Lasek Bakalski, and is the first such facility in Legnica County. The park is unsupervised: there are no instructors, and you cross the obstacles between the trees on your own, following the rules. The ban covers jumping and climbing on the safety nets, among other things. So keep an eye on the children.
