The Bauble Museum, paintball and a play room: what to do in Milicz with family, a group of friends or alone when it rains.

What to see in Milicz when it rains?

For rain, start with the Bauble Museum. You learn the history and patterns of traditional Christmas baubles, including the regional Lower Silesian Bauble and the Lower Silesian Pattern Book. The museum runs workshops and educational programmes and offers personalised, corporate and souvenir baubles, so you can leave with a piece of your own. The place carries the "Rainy day" and "Solo" tags. A calm alternative is the Public Library at Piłsudskiego 14, with a main lending desk for adults and an OPAC catalogue. The distributed catalogue at dzb.pl also lets you search the holdings of other Lower Silesian libraries.

Where to play with children and in a group?

Kosmiczne Kulki is an indoor play room on Kopernika Street, part of the Milicz Meeting Centre. The same building holds a bowling alley and a restaurant serving burgers, so a family can eat, play and bowl without changing address. Older kids and adults can choose Paintball-Milicz at Osiedle 24. The centre has operated since 2009, rents equipment (markers, masks and uniforms) and organises games for individuals and groups, including team-building events for companies.

Which places recall the history of Milicz?

The Wincenty Witos monument is a stone boulder with a plaque, put up by the municipality on 15 August 2020, the hundredth anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw. Witos (1874-1945) was, as the inscription says, an outstanding leader of the Polish peasant movement. The monument is free and easy to add to a walk through town. Milicz lies in the northern part of Lower Silesia, among ponds and forests.

One place we list only as remembrance: the Jewish cemetery in Milicz was founded in 1819, but its site has been built over with houses and no trace of the necropolis survives. It is not a destination for a trip.
