Ostroszowice in the Owl Mountains: two viewing platforms, Wrona and Kuczaba hills and a riding centre. Find where to go for a panorama.

Where are the best views in Ostroszowice?

Start with the two wooden platforms by the road from Myśliszów towards Ostroszowice. The viewing platform below Wrona was built in 2017 on the initiative of the Dzierżoniów municipality and the Association of Friends of the Owl Mountains, and funded by the Świdnica Forest District. The pier opens a panorama of the Owl Mountains (Góry Sowie) and is adapted for wheelchair users. It lies by the yellow Sudeten trail, so you can include it in a longer route, for example together with Wrona.

Niebiańskie Widoki ("Heavenly Views") is a small wooden terrace with railings in the forest, opened on 16 November 2022. The Świdnica Forest District funded it on the initiative of the Dzierżoniów municipality. From it you see the Dzierżoniów Land and the Ślęża Massif. The platform quickly gained online fame precisely because of its size: a few people fill almost its whole surface. Keep that in mind if you come in a bigger group.

Which peak to choose?

Wrona is 458 m above sea level and the highest point of the Niemcza-Strzelin Hills. It has the shape of a small dome with gentle slopes, and the ridge forms an almost level summit line, so the highest point is hard to spot on the ground. No marked trail leads to the top. Kuczaba (651 m) lies in a side arm of the Owl Mountains, between the Wigancicka Glade and the Woliborz Pass. From the top you see Bielawa on one side and the Woliborz Pass on the other, and a path through the forest leads to Jodłownik. Kalenica with its lookout tower rises nearby.

Can you ride a horse in Ostroszowice?

Wyspa Koni ("Horse Island") is a riding centre on Polna Street. It runs recreational riding and training, and every year organises horse camps for children and teenagers. Besides riding there are dance workshops, including ballet and modern dance, plus theatre and photography classes, and training and team-building trips for companies. The centre also works as an accommodation and conference point in the Owl Mountains.

Further on, choose Bielawa, Dzierżoniów, Rościszów, Jaźwina or Kamionki.
