What peaks and passes are near Grodziszcze?

All in the Owl Mountains (Góry Sowie) in the Central Sudetes, and all free to visit. Szeroka is 827 metres above sea level and lies near Grodziszcze in Ząbkowice County. Marked trails run over the peak, including the Main Sudetes Trail and the E3 route. It is wooded with spruce-beech forest, and the whole peak lies within the Owl and Bardo Mountains Landscape Park.

Malinowa is 838.8 metres tall and dome-shaped with steep slopes. On its north-western slope, at 750 to 800 metres, stands a group of gneiss rocks called Wysokie Skałki. Within a few kilometres lie the Srebrna Góra Fortress and neighbouring peaks, including Kalenica.

Is the Woliborska Pass a good stop?

The Woliborska Pass lies at 711 metres on the south-eastern side of Kalenica, between the hills Kobylec and Zległe. There is a car park and a tourist shelter, and regional road no. 384 from Nowa Ruda to Bielawa crosses the pass with many sharp bends. In winter the road can be dangerous and is often impassable, so plan a winter trip with time to spare.

What about the palace and park in Grodziszcze?

In the village of Grodziszcze in Ząbkowice County stands a park pavilion with an observation tower from 1890, neo-Gothic, part of a former palace and park complex. The tower has been renovated but remains closed to visitors, and the palace itself is a ruin with surviving walls. So do not treat the park pavilion as a trip destination, unless you like looking at buildings from the outside.
