Things to do in Nowy Waliszów: four low summits in the Krowiarki and nearby, free to visit and quiet, made for calm days in the hills.
Which summits lie near Nowy Waliszów?
Dzicza Góra, also called Kościelec, is 578 m above sea level and lies in the Śnieżnik Massif, just north of the village. Beech, mixed and spruce forest covers the top and upper slopes, with fields and meadows below. The sources describe no marked trail or view here, so it is more a route-finding outing than a ready-made hike.
Kamiennik (586 m) lies in the Krowiarki range and joins Żeleźniak, the highest point of this part of the range. It is built of metamorphic rock, mostly mica schist with garnets.
Which one has a trail and which one a striking rock?
Skałeczna (about 570 m) has a trail: the yellow trail from Żelazno to the Puchaczówka Pass runs across its north-eastern slope. Łazek (557 m) is cone-shaped with a flat top, and a large conglomerate rock on its southern slope is regarded as a natural curiosity. The Waliszowska Woda stream and its tributary surround the hill.
All four carry the Free, Great views, Nature and Solo tags.
