Jakubów Manor
Jakubów

manor house from the second half of the 18th century in the Radwanice municipality near Głogów, listed as a historic monument in 1961

Jakubów in the Radwanice municipality has the Buczyna Jakubowska forest reserve, a historic manor, a family stable and the ruins of a burnt palace.

Where can you walk in Jakubów?

The Buczyna Jakubowska nature reserve was created in 2001 and protects a piece of forest in the Dobromil forestry unit of the Głogów Forest District. Entry is free. The reserve lies only a few hundred metres from the village landmarks, so it is easy to combine the forest with a look at the buildings.

What historic buildings stand in Jakubów?

The manor was built in the second half of the 18th century and entered in the register of monuments on 15 March 1961. Sources do not say what state it is in today or whether anyone lives there, so treat it as a building to see from outside. The 17th-century palace burned down in February 1945 when the front passed through, and it was never rebuilt. Its ruins still stand, like those of many Lower Silesian residences destroyed in the last months of the war.

Is there a stable in Jakubów?

Libra Stable is a family place run by a second generation of riding enthusiasts. Sources do not confirm its detailed offer, horse breeds or size, so call before you come.

Głogów lies a dozen or so kilometres away, and the larger town of the county has its own page: Polkowice.
