limestone outcrops and ridges of Krowiarki passed by the black and yellow trails towards Ołdrzychowice

Piotrowice in the Krowiarki range: the gentle peaks of Ostróg and Golina and the late baroque Church of the Holy Family. A quiet place for solo walks.

Which peak should you choose in Piotrowice?

Ostróg is 504 m high and lies in the north-western part of the Krowiarki, in the Śnieżnik Massif. Crystalline limestone forms the summit, jutting out as rocks and ridges. Two trails run nearby: a black one from Bystrzyca Kłodzka to Ołdrzychowice, east of the hill, and a yellow one from Żelazno to the Puchaczówka Pass, through the Piotrówka valley north of the peak.

Golina is taller, at 544 m, and lies between Lower and Upper Piotrowice. It is built of mica schist and crystalline limestone. Fields and meadows cover the whole hill, with small groves only on the top and slopes, so the view is wide. A black trail runs along the south side. Both peaks are free and suit a walk on your own.

Is there a historic church in Piotrowice?

The Church of the Holy Family in Upper Piotrowice is a late baroque branch church from the 18th century, built in 1777 or 1779. It is single-nave, made of brick, with a gable roof and a tower with a pyramid-shaped cap. From 1780 it was dedicated to the Fourteen Holy Helpers, and only later was the name changed to the present one. A wooden altar survives inside. The church belongs to the parish in Ołdrzychowice Kłodzkie, so there is no fixed Mass schedule.
