Kaczorów in the Kaczawskie Mountains: the historic St Nicholas church and two Ołowiane Mountains peaks, Ołowiana and Czerniak, for a walk.
The Church of St Nicholas stands on Pollaka Square and is an active parish church in the Bolków deanery of the Świdnica diocese. It was mentioned as early as 1311, but the present body dates from the end of the 15th century and was rebuilt in the 18th century. Inside you find a main altar from the 18th century and a Gothic sacrament house from the 15th. The church was entered in the register of monuments in 1961.
Ołowiana is 658 m high and lies in the central part of the Ołowiane Mountains, between Różanka and Turzec. It is built of greenstone and greenschist with marble inserts, and rock forms appear on the slopes. Short ridges run off the summit: one north towards Czerniak, another south towards Brożyna.
Czerniak is lower, at 557 m, and rises right above the village. It is a shorter goal for anyone walking alone and without hurry. Both peaks are free and offer views of the area.
This part of the Kaczawskie Mountains also has Bolczów Castle and the Góra Miłek nature reserve. For a longer plan see Jawor, Bolków or Nowa Wieś Wielka.
