Dobromierz attractions: a neo-Gothic lookout tower on Wieżyca hill, a reservoir on the Strzegomka and a palace from 1727 by national roads 5 and 34.
The Wieżyca observation tower stands on a 395 m hill in the Bolków Foothills, near the village of Bronówek. In 1745 Austrian commanders watched Prussian troops from this summit before the battle of Dobromierz. The monument with a lookout was finished in 1852, and in 1877-1879 it was rebuilt as a memorial to the Prussian soldier. Entry is free, and the spot suits a walk for two.
Only to a limited degree. Dobromierz Reservoir, also called Lake Dobromierskie, is a dam on the Strzegomka inside the Książ Landscape Park, at the foot of the Wałbrzych Mountains. It supplies drinking water, so recreation on the water is heavily restricted. Come for the wooded hills around it rather than for a swim.
The palace was built in 1727 for Christoph Ferdinand von Nimptsch, probably by extending an earlier 17th-century manor. It stands at the junction of national roads 5 and 34. Sources do not describe its current condition. Other former residences lie nearby, including Pietrzykowo and Bronów, and towards Wałbrzych there is Cisy Castle.
Larger towns in the county are Świdnica, Świebodzice and Strzegom.
