Kopalniana Góra
Pisary

a forested summit at 700 m above sea level in the Śnieżnik Massif, within the Śnieżnik Landscape Park

Pisary in the Śnieżnik Massif: Opacz on the Czech border, Kopalniana Góra and the neo-Gothic Church of St Wenceslas from 1859.

How do you reach Opacz from Pisary?

Opacz is 741 m high and lies about 3 kilometres north-east of the centre of Pisary, in Śnieżnik Landscape Park. It is a dome-shaped hill with steep slopes, built of Śnieżnik gneiss and covered with spruce forest. The summit itself falls on the border pass between Poland and Czechia, where a small chapel stands. A green trail crosses the top, and a red one also serves the place. Entry is free, and the walk suits a solo outing.

Does a trail lead up Kopalniana Góra?

Kopalniana Góra is 700 m high and rises above a bend of the Nysa Kłodzka, near Potoczek. Spruce forest of the lower montane zone covers the slopes. Despite the name, sources confirm no traces of a mine, no marked trails to the top and no origin of the name. If you plan to climb it, check the route in advance.

What do we know about the church in Pisary?

The Church of St Wenceslas is a small branch church of the parish of St Anne in Boboszów. It was built in 1859 in the neo-Gothic style and has been rebuilt since 1998. Beside the church stand two historic stone-and-metal sculpture groups showing the crucifixion: one from the end of the 19th century, the other, in front of the cemetery chapel, from 1800. Both were entered in the register of monuments in 2007.
