Borowice attractions are trips to three peaks: Smogornia in the Giant Mountains, and Wierzchnica and Wilczak in the Karkonosze Foothills.

Where to hike from Borowice?

Borowice is a base for trips to the peaks, and the highest of them is Smogornia. It lies on the main ridge of the Giant Mountains, in the Silesian Ridge, right by the Polish-Czech border. It is about 1,491 metres high, although the measuring point sits at 1,488.6 metres. The summit is not directly accessible to tourists, so treat it as a view and a landmark, not a point to conquer.

The lower foothill peaks are easier to plan. Wierzchnica is 649 metres high and built of granite, and on its western slopes stand the rock formations called Dziki and Szachownica. A lower montane forest covers it. Wilczak rises to 707 metres east of Borowice, between the Czerwonka and Jelenia Struga valleys. Coniferous forest covers the whole massif, so it is more a walk on wooded slopes than a viewpoint.

How to choose a goal?

From Wierzchnica several places are close: Podgórna Waterfall about 1.6 km, the Wang Temple about 3.6 km and Henryk's Castle about 4.4 km. Wilczak lies less than three kilometres from the Wang Temple. All three peaks carry the free, views, nature and solo tags. A list of the mountains alone is on the page mountains in Borowice.
