Mountains in Kamionki: Kozia Równia, Rymarz, Korczak and Żebrak, four Owl Mountains hills ranging from 930 down to 715 m above sea level.
How do you plan a walk across these four hills?
Begin with the lowest, Żebrak (715 m), right by the village. Further towards Kalenica come Korczak (758 m) and Rymarz (913 m), and highest, in the central-southern part of the range, lies Kozia Równia (930 m). The Jugowska Pass (805 m) separates Rymarz from Kozia Równia. The whole ridge belongs to the Owl Mountains Landscape Park.
Where does the trail go?
The yellow trail from Bielawa through Kalenica to Nowa Ruda runs along the southeastern slope of Korczak close to the summit, where a stream also rises. The other hills are less obvious: Kozia Równia is a flat, unremarkable plateau, and Żebrak has a faint summit and steep slopes to the west and east.
The geology is similar too: Precambrian paragneiss and migmatite, with amphibolite on Korczak. Lower-montane forest grows on the lower parts. You can see Wielka Sowa with its lookout tower less than five kilometres from Rymarz; it makes a good idea for a longer day.
All four peaks are free and carry the Solo tag. Get to know the area on the page about attractions in Kamionki or browse the list of mountains in the region. Nearby lie also Bielawa, Dzierżoniów and Ostroszowice.
