Mountains in Unisław Śląski: Stożek Wielki (841 m), Sokółka (801 m) and Stożek Mały (750 m), three peaks of the Stone Mountains in the Central Sudetes.

Which peak is the highest near Unisław Śląski?

Stożek Wielki, at 841 m above sea level. It stands on the northwestern edge of the Dry Mountains. From the same area you can walk to other hills, among them Waligóra and Borowa with its lookout tower, and further to Zamkowa Góra and Rogowiec with castle ruins. For an experienced walker it is a good starting point for a longer loop.

Sokółka is about 801 m high. It sits on the ridge joining Dzikowiec with Wysoka and Stachoń, not far from the village. It is built of latite with barite and oligoclase, and the eastern slope is formed by mudstone and claystone of the Lower Permian, cut by veins of trachybasalt. A coniferous forest covers it, with broadleaf trees in the lower parts. PTTK trails lead through here.

Which peak is easiest to recognise?

Stożek Mały, thanks to its conical shape and steep slopes. It is 750 m high and lies northeast of Sokołowsko, inside the Wałbrzych Sudetes Landscape Park. The melaphyre it is built of gives it a regular outline. Yellow and green trails run nearby.

All three carry the Free and Solo tags. We described the whole village, including the stable and the park, on the page about attractions in Unisław Śląski. Looking for other places? Try Jedlina-Zdrój, Szczawno-Zdrój or Głuszyca, and for a general overview of mountains see Mountains in the region.
