Scenic views near Sokołowsko begin on the slope of Średniak and end on the ridges of the Suche Mountains, close to the Czech border.

Where is the viewpoint in Sokołowsko?

The viewpoint below Średniak sits on the slope of the hill above the village, at 779 m above sea level, among the kind of forest typical of this part of the Sudetes. It stands beside the trail to Mieroszów. The route is about 9.5 km long with just under 460 m of ascent, and walking all of it takes roughly three hours and twenty minutes. So you do not have to go the whole way: leave from the centre of Sokołowsko, pause at the viewpoint and return the same way. It is the only place on this list that also carries the tag for couples, which makes it a good choice for a shared walk.

Which peaks give you a look across the Sudetes?

The other places with this tag are summits. The highest is Suchawa (928 m), followed closely by Kostrzyna (906 m) and Włostowa, which has two summits at 901-903 m. The sources describe no marked tourist facilities on it, so it suits people who can read a map. Near Kostrzyna stands Borowa with its lookout tower, and a little further Rogowiec with its castle ruins. The lower Kopica (803 m) and Garniec (763 m) lie in the Suche range, while Kozina gives you a view of the frontier itself: the Czech border runs along its ridge.

How do you plan a day around the views?

Choose one goal instead of three. Kozina lies on the border ridge, west of Granicznik, and Garniec was once called Schüsselberg in German. Both names help you find them on older maps. For a short outing, Średniak is enough. A longer plan is Suchawa with Kostrzyna and Włostowa, since they lie in one area near Sokołowsko. For a full day, build a route linking several summits of one range, as the sources advise for Kopica. Check the trails before you set out, because the descriptions do not always give the approach.
