Historic sites in Gierczyn: an old mining adit, a filled-in tin mine and the park of a demolished palace, all in the Jizera Mountains.
Two sites relate to mining. The Fryderyk Wilhelm adit in Przecznica is a partly preserved underground working, described as being in better shape than most remains of this kind in the area. The Psi Grzbiet mine extracted tin ore from 1591. The shaft was explored to around 100 metres, but today it is filled in, and the site is considered dangerous to visit, so look at it only from a distance, if at all.
The wooden pumps from the 18th century used to drain the workings are kept in a museum in Zabrze. Both mines are a good subject for people who like to read about industrial history before a trip.
Only the park. The palace was built in the early 20th century (Wikidata gives 1901) and demolished in the 1970s. The park was laid out in the 18th century and reshaped together with the residence in the early 20th. From the available sources we cannot tell whether you can enter it.
