Mountains in Gniewoszów: Gniewosz (853 m) and Jedlnik (746 m) in the Bystrzyckie Mountains, plus the ruins of Szczerba Castle on the way.

Which peak near Gniewoszów has better views?

Jedlnik (746 m), an exposed summit in the southern Bystrzyckie Mountains. Its German name was Dreitannenberg. From the hill you see the Śnieżnik Massif and the ranges around the Kłodzko Valley, which makes it one of the viewpoints of the region. It sits on a watershed, south of the Poręba Pass.

And which one is higher and more wooded?

Gniewosz, 853 m, on the European watershed between the Poręba Pass and Czerniec. A blue trail from Międzylesie to the Spalona Pass leads over the summit. The slopes hold mountain meadows and pastures. The Sudeten Highway runs along the eastern slope, so the approach can feel less remote.

Is there anything to visit on the way?

Yes, Szczerba Castle: the ruins of a stronghold in the Bystrzyckie Mountains, a few hundred metres north of Różanka. The Hussites destroyed it in 1428 and it was never rebuilt. All three places are free and carry the Solo tag.
