Mountains in Okrzeszyn means Bogoria, Buczak and Jański Wierch: three free summits from 587 to 697 m above the Szkło valley.

Which summit is the highest?

Jański Wierch, 697 m above sea level, in the Central Sudetes. Just above the top the Polish-Czech border turns north-west. The valley of the Beczkowski Stream, a tributary of the Szkło, is regarded as the border between the Krucze and Jastrzębie ranges, and the dispute over the range is still open.

Where to climb a border peak?

Go up Bogoria, 645 m. It is a border summit at the southern end of the Góry Krucze, near Okrzeszyn. Krucza Skała, Jański Wierch and the Kruczy Kamień nature reserve are close by. It is mountain terrain, so check your route before setting out.

What does Buczak have that the others lack?

Buczak (587 m) is the lower, south-eastern culmination of the Bogoria ridge. The southern slope has a porphyry cliff and an old mine reaching about 50 m into the hill. Small patches of spruce forest cover the top. All three mountains carry the Solo, Great views and Nature tags, so they suit a quiet walk on your own. Plan the route separately for Bogoria and Jański Wierch, as both lie in mountain terrain by the state border.

More about the village is on the page for attractions in Okrzeszyn, and the ranges of the whole region on the mountains page. Nearby lie Kamienna Góra and Lubawka.
