What to do in Polanica-Zdrój when it rains? Two play centres, two missionary museums and a library: five indoor places for a whole day.
Where to go with kids when it rains in Polanica-Zdrój?
To two play centres of different scale. FunPark Polanica-Zdrój at ulica Kłodzka 14 is an indoor hall of 7,500 square metres. It has fourteen attractions, including big inflatable structures themed on pirates and jungle, a zip line, a tower with a playground and paddling pools with small boats. There is a snack point with waffles, ice cream and coffee, and a terrace with umbrellas beside it. The park is for children aged 3 to 12 and is open daily from 11:00 to 20:00, but check the current schedule before you go.
The second option is Chatka Misia Rysia at ulica Zdrojowa 34, close to the Spa Park. Inside there are slides, ball pools and mazes, and the mascot Miś Rysio is a regular guest. The centre runs animations and group games, English classes and art and sensory workshops, so it works well when the kids are staying longer and you want to keep them busy.
What can you see in Polanica-Zdrój without an umbrella?
The missionary museums. Our database has two entries: the Missionary Museum on ulica Władysława Reymonta and the Ethnographic Missionary Museum in the monastery of the White Fathers (Sercanie) in Sokołówka. The first collects objects brought by missionaries from distant parts of the world and shows photos that go with them, and it offers guided visits. The second was founded in 1977, and its collection includes costumes, ornaments, musical instruments and sculptures from Peru, Zaire, Tahiti and Easter Island.
This is an ethnographic exhibition rather than a classic regional museum, so it rewards people who like looking at objects from distant cultures. With small children, pair such a visit with a trip to a play centre.
