Which peak near Poręba is the highest?

Jagodna is the highest peak of the Bystrzyckie Mountains (Góry Bystrzyckie). It has two summits: the northern, higher one is 985 m, the southern one 977.2 m. A lookout tower stands on top, and a PTTK hostel sits on the trail to Międzylesie. A hiking trail runs through the summit itself. Entry is free and it suits a solo hike.

Part of the massif is Sasanka, a separate, lower rise about 400 metres from Jagodna. Many people wrongly use its name for the northern summit of Jagodna itself, so check the map for where you are going.

Where to look for views and traces of the past?

Miłoń (772 m, also called Dębosz) lies about 1.4 km southwest of Poręba. Its partly open slopes give views of the Śnieżnik Massif, the Orlickie Mountains and the Kłodzko Valley, and the remains of a combat bunker survive on the hill.

Sasin (883 m) sits on the European watershed and is built of granite gneiss. You can still see the line of a ski lift from 1976.
