Historic sites in Ubocze: three palaces in one village near Gryfów Śląski, a neo-Gothic ruin, an 1801 palace and one from the mid-19th century.

Why does the village of Ubocze have three palaces?

Ubocze is a rare case of a village with three palaces, each with a German name within Schosdorf: Oberschloss, Mittelgutsschloss and Kesselgutsschloss. Today they are three separate buildings in Gryfów Śląski municipality, in Lwówek County. They do not all look alike, because their condition differs.

Which palace looks best?

The palace in Ubocze Średnie was built in 1801 as part of a palace and park complex. The park was entered on the register of monuments under number A/863/711/J by a decision of 10 November 1981. The palace in Ubocze Górne at Ubocze 264 dates from the mid-19th century, together with its park from the same period. Both suit visitors looking at architecture on their own.

What is left of the palace in Ubocze-Kolonia?

The palace in Ubocze-Kolonia, in the Pasiecznik colony, was built around 1850-1852 by Johann Carl Prenzel of Gryfów Śląski, in English neo-Gothic style, of stone and brick. It is a permanent ruin: the building is heavily damaged, the park badly neglected, and one tower has survived. View it from outside.
