Scenic views in Bielawa: the Kalenica tower and hills with a panorama of the Owl Mountains. See where to look at the town and where at the Central Sudetes.

Where in Bielawa do you see the most?

From the Kalenica observation tower, which stands on the summit (964 m) in the Owl Mountains. Two terraces give a panorama of the Central Sudetes. The steel structure was built in 1932-1933 and opened on 2 June 1933. It was first planned for the top of Popielak, where two wooden towers had stood before, but it finally went up on the grounds of the Roztocznik estate. The project was organised by the Owl Mountains Society.

The tower carries the tags Free, For couples and Solo, so it suits a trip alone as well as together. Choose a day with good visibility, because it decides how much you will see.

Which hill gives a view of the town itself?

Kłobucznik (364 m) lies in the eastern part of Bielawa. A concrete observation post stands on the top, and from it you see Bielawa with the Owl Mountains behind. The hill is also known as Strażnik, Łysa Góra or Hutberg. Panek (455 m) lies right by the centre, at the foot of the mountains, and is one of the easiest points to reach in the Bielawa Hills.

Where to look for a wider horizon?

Higher than the town hills rises Słoneczna (949 m), domed, with an elongated top and the Sunny Rocks near the summit. Wilczyna (665 m) is a domed hill with a flat top in the Owl Mountains Landscape Park, in the same range as Wielka Sowa and Kalenica.

Getting to any of these places costs nothing. All the hills carry the tags Scenic views and Free. Hills and peaks are collected on the page mountains in Bielawa, places with no fees on the list Bielawa for free, and the full overview of the town in attractions in Bielawa. Views from other towns are in the scenic views list.
