Free things to do in Lądek-Zdrój: a spa park, the Trojak platform, three hills and a Baroque monument on the square. A day plan with no tickets.
Where can you take a free walk in Lądek-Zdrój?
In the John Paul II Spa Park, which covers 1.2 hectares in the eastern part of town. It is a classic spa park with a mineral spring, natural-medicine treatments and an avenue leading to the pump room. The "Wojciech" treatment facility works here, and there are a recreation pool and a spa chapel with a fountain. You will also find the "Dąbrówka" mineral spring at a temperature of 19.7 degrees Celsius and a larch avenue from the 18th century. It is the calmest point to start the day before you head higher, and a walk along the avenue takes as long as you like.
Where is the best view in Lądek-Zdrój?
On the Trojak viewing platform. It is a steel structure divided into three sides, part of which extends beyond the edge of the rock, and the view covers the town and the Sudeten ranges. The platform was built under a municipal project on the safety and accessibility of the viewpoint. It stands at the top of Trojak (766 m above sea level), from which you can see almost the whole Kłodzko Valley, and nearby are an arboretum and climbing rocks. The platform also suits couples.
Besides Trojak there are two more. Radoszka (565 m) lies about 2 kilometres north-east of Lądek and is built of gneiss. Dzielec (535 m) separates the spa town from the built-up area and has the rock formations Stary Zamek and Wysoki Okap.
Which monuments and cemeteries in Lądek-Zdrój are free?
On the square stands the Holy Trinity Monument, a Baroque figure from 1739-1741 about 7 metres high. On Śnieżna street are two active cemeteries: the parish cemetery, the largest in town, with a chapel from 1908 and a passion cross from 1877, and the municipal cemetery, founded in 1616, with a Baroque church of St Roch from 1678. Keep quiet and respectful there. The municipal cemetery replaced an earlier one right next to the parish church, and the parish cemetery was founded in the second half of the 19th century, when the older one no longer sufficed for the townspeople.
How do you build a free day in Lądek-Zdrój?
Spa park in the morning, then a calm walk towards the square and the Trinity monument, and in the afternoon the climb to Trojak and its platform. Leave Dzielec and Radoszka for another day, because they lie in the Krowiarki. Trojak belongs to the Golden Mountains in the Eastern Sudetes and rises directly above town, so it is easy to combine with the rest of the plan.
