Free attractions in Wojcieszów are the Góra Miłek reserve and six peaks of the Kaczawskie Mountains that you can visit without a ticket.
Which places in Wojcieszów are free?
All seven entries are pieces of nature. The only reserve is Góra Miłek, a forest area of 141.35 ha on a limestone hill above Wojcieszów Górny. It holds montane beech forest and the only site of purple cyclamen in Poland. The rest are peaks: Góra Połom (667 m), Marciniec (624 m), Chmielarz (585 m), Polanka (546.6 m), Trzciniec (484 m) and Zadora (454 m).
Where do you begin without spending a zloty?
Closest to buildings is Zadora: its western slope borders the houses of Wojcieszów Dolny, so the approach takes the least time. If you have a whole day, walk the ridge from Marciniec through Chmielarz and Polanka to Trzciniec, since they lie in one line of the Eastern Ridge. On Trzciniec you will see marble layers in the rock, and on the neighbouring pass the ruins of a seventeenth-century gallows. In the reserve keep quiet and do not leave the paths. The reserve was established on 26 January 1994, and its purpose is to protect montane beech forest on limestone together with an invertebrate fauna that includes snails and spiders. Marciniec is a small massif of old metamorphic rock covered in spruce forest, and Chmielarz lies between Dłużek and Polanka. You will find all of this within one range of the Kaczawskie Mountains, so you do not pay for travel between distant places.
What is not free in the mountains?
Ready-made infrastructure. For Połom the sources give no marked trail or viewpoint, and Chmielarz and Marciniec have no described marked approach. Equip yourself with a tourist map of the Kaczawskie Mountains, plan your return and check what lies on the route before you leave home.
